About Us
The driving force behind Sinfully Superb Serpents.
I am a full time working wife and mother who runs a home daycare. My snakes are my hobby, my passion and my joy.
I have always loved animals big or small and growing up in Saskatchewan, there never seemed to be a lack of Garter Snakes, Frogs, Toads, and Salamanders to catch. Unfortunately, I lived in a house with reptile phobic parents, so any of my prized catches had to be immediately released. It was not until I moved out on my own that I was able to have anything other than a cat even though reptiles, specifically snakes, have always been my true passion. Approximately, 5 years ago I convinced my husband that snakes were excellent pets and that is when Sinfully Superb Serpents truly got its’ start.
All of the snakes here are brought out on a regular basis to teach the daycare children the realities of snakes, not the generalized societal misconceptions about them. The snakes also help the children learn about: diversity in a species, the diversity of care needed for subspecies, natural environments, the differences between diurnal and nocturnal and how to care for animals in general (feeding, cleaning, watering and cleanliness before, between and after handling). As you can see my snakes are pets first and breeders second.
As a breeder, my commitment is to quality not quantity!! None of my girls will be bred if I feel they are not physically ready for breeding. Nor will I breed from or sell stock that I feel is genetically inferior or compromised. Although, this means that some years I may not have much available if anything at all, it also means that anything I sell will be (to my knowledge) from healthy, genetically sound stock.
Sincerely,
Tisha Keeler
